In one of Rutlands beautiful villages, not far from Rutland Water, our Shepherd’s Huts take this well-loved form of accommodation to a higher level. The luxury of the interior contrasts with the wildness of the outdoors, which you can admire from your own bath tub right outside.
Set in a private gated 30 acre estate, right near our beautiful lakes, the open field surroundings and wildlife provide a natural setting for Lake Escape. Our huts are super-indulgent. Inside, you have a cosy kitchen and dining area warmed by a wood-burning stove. There is heating too – very luxurious for a shepherd’s hut.
Your kitchen essentials are provided, including crockery and cutlery, plus tea, coffee, oil, vinegar and the like. There’s an electric hob, fridge and Belfast sink, and a cute oak table & bench – a nice spot to enjoy a meal together. Your toilet and shower room can also be found inside.
With a super cosy double bed tucked into the end of the shepherd hut, you can snuggle down at the end of the night in comfort.
Doors lead straight out to your private deck, where you have a seating area and that free standing bath tub with canopy waiting for you (and only for you). This is the place to end the day, looking out on the lakes and Rutland Valley whilst keeping warm by the fire pit.
There are great places to eat all over the region, with the closest places just 5miles East in nearby Stamford where you have many choices, around a 10 minutes drive away.
Elsewhere, you have impressive stately homes to visit such as Burghley House, plenty of nearby golf courses, and it won’t take too long to make your way to the wonderful Rutland Water. With plenty to do throughout the year, it’s definitely worth a visit.
